Waringarri Aboriginal Arts is a wholly Indigenous owned Art Centre in the heart of Miriwoong Country. Waringarri, established in the early 1980's by senior artists of the region, promotes local art and culture whilst operating as an artists’ studio specializing in contemporary art of East Kimberley. Ochre paintings, limited edition prints, engraved boabs and artifacts are sold or sent for exhibition. Regular traditional corroboree performances are held throughout the year thus renewing in traditional ways the vitality of Miriwoong cultural identity and enriching the artists’ painting practice. Local earth pigments with all their tactility are applied, emerging in broad planes of natural colour both an aerial and landscape view as final touches are made to what become unmistakably Waringarri Art.
